Tybee Island, Georgia (aka Savannah) is planning a 2-day running festival next February, featuring a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, a beach run and a street dash. When you add up the five races, the total distance is 26.2 miles. If that’s not clever enough for you, they’re also hosting a big post-race party with the hopes of drawing competitors from far and wide…

…Unlike the folks in Bermuda!

The Millrose Games are leaving Madison Square Garden! (We write this with mixed emotions. The new facility will undoubtedly be a faster track, but if you ever had the privilege of sitting trackside as Marcus O’Sullivan toured the boards to a packed house, you know how special the Garden was.) The USATF is fighting this decision.

Congratulations to Southern Connecticut State University, who captured a New England Championship title for the first time in school history. We at Faster Than Forty hoisted a few of those trophies back in the day. Just as shockingly, Oregon swept the men’s and women’s Pac-10 meet. (Okay, not at all shocking. About as shocking as Texas A&M sweeping Big 12s.)
